After Taapsee Pannu & Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor Raises His Voice Against Violence

    Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan released last Friday. The film starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal opened to positive reviews. However, a few days later, some people started bashing the actors and the director for showing Abhishek Bachchan, who plays a Sikh in the film smoking.

     

    Some of the members of the Sikh community said that Sikhs don't smoke and since then, Twitter has been divided into two groups over the issue. Amid the controversy, the scene was deleted from the film by the distributors of the film, Eros International.

     
     

     
     

    One of the Twitter users abused Taapsee and threatened that if she were his daughter, he would hit her.

     

    The Twitter user tweeted to the actress, "I swear i wish i was her father, all i need is my belt and a jutti. Shittar mar mar ke I would of taken the actress vala bhoot out from her." To this Taapsee had replied, "I already feel bad for your kids. God give them strength to live." Vicky Kaushal also reacted to this threat Taapsee received. The actor shared, "Dharam da maan rakhna jaande ho, apni thee da nahi. Phaaji bohot maan rakh laya apne Guruaan da ehe gal karke".

     
     

     
     

    Taapsee's Manmarziyaan co-star Vicky Kaushal was the first one to call the man out on social media. He sarcastically said that the man has made his religion proud by saying those words.

     
     

     
     

    Arjun Kapoor took notice of the tweet and said, "No religion allows violence."

    Earlier, Anurag Kashyap also reacted to this controversy. He shared a post in which he mentioned, "The city of Amritsar opened their hearts and doors to us and everything was done with utmost care . Not a single thing was shot without guidance. We wanted to show things the way they are. No religion teaches crime or anything anti-humanity , yet those things happen. It doesn’t mean they are offending the religion."
