Aditi Rao Wants To Go White, Gold On D-Day

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Nov, 2015 02:39 PM
  • Aditi Rao Wants To Go White, Gold On D-Day
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari is yet to get hitched, but she has already thought of the kind of bridal wear she would like to slip into.

Dressed in a white lehenga with gold foil rose print and a bikini top, the "Rockstar" actress sashayed down the ramp as a bride for designer duo Sukriti and Aakriti Grover's show at the Gionee India Beach Fashion Week.

With no dupatta and ample skin show, she gave thumbs up to the contemporary bridal look.

"I think that's what girls today are... strong girls who are also very proud of their femininity. To be strong does not mean you stop being feminine. It's nice to have something for girls like that. I like the Boho bridal collection. That's awesome.

"I feel brides are always decked up with heavy clothes and jewellery, but to have something that's so light and pretty where the person actually shines, is lovely. There's nothing more beautiful than white. It has a delicate vibe. I love white and gold and (I would) absolutely wear it for own wedding 100 percent," Aditi told IANS after the show at The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa on Saturday.

So, wedding bells anytime soon?

"That I won't tell you," said the 29-year-old.

While her look was completed with the traditional maang tika on the head, other models walked the ramp with Mohawk-inspired edgy headgear that gelled with the collection for the bride and her friends.

Classic lehengas and cholis detailed with intricate gota work looked very festive. The voluminous silhouettes were given a romantic touch via hues like peach, apricot, coral, lemon and pink. But it was mostly the blouses that added to the bold look.

"The collection is for younger brides today who are bold. Indian wear doesn't have to be heavy," Sukriti told IANS about the new range that had pieces made of cotton.

The collection also consisted of ghararas, shararas and saris. Jumpsuit, halter maxi, gown and skirt also found a place in the collection.
