Aamir Khan Goes Vegetarian To Lose 20 Kg For Lal Singh Chaddha; Nutritionist Reveals The Actor’s Diet Plan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 Mar, 2019 11:53 PM

Aamir Khan is currently busy prepping for his role in Lal Singh Chaddha. The actor will play the lead character, immortalised by Tom Hanks, in this Forrest Gump remake.

Aamir attended a book launch recently where he revealed that he would be losing 20 kg for the role and has been on a vegetarian diet for it.

The actor said, “I play a young man in the movie, so I need to lose 20 kg. I have already lost three and a half kg in two weeks.”

Aamir is in consultation with nutritional biochemist Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar for his diet plan and is following a vegetarian diet currently. He has already lost 3.5kg in two weeks by following the diet.

Dr Dhurandhar, who had put Aamir on a different diet while the actor was doing Dangal, revealed, “A diet doesn't only focus on calories, but also caters to other aspects and requirements. For Dangal, he wanted to retain his muscle [mass while losing weight]. But now, he doesn't want to gain muscle for this film. So, the protein intake is different as well."

The nutritionist has created a personalised chart for Aamir that includes consuming daal, veggies, roti and protein supplements.

Aamir often undergoes physical transformations for his films. Not just Dangal and Lal Singh Chaddha, he also worked on his physique for Ghajini (2008) and PK (2014).

Lal Singh Chaddha is slated for a 2020 release and will be directed by Advait Chandan, who had also helmed Zaira Waseem starrer Secret Superstar. Aamir previously also revealed that he waited for eight years to get the rights of Forrest Gump and to make this film.

While the recce of the film is still on, Aamir had revealed that a major part of it will be shot in Punjab, and that he will sport a turban for some parts of the film.
