"7 Broadway World Awards Winner 'Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical' Arrives in Vancouver as part of North American Tour

Surrey-based KVP Entertainers, a leading concert promotions company in the lower mainland, is thrilled to announce the arrival of Cinema On Stage’s "Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical" in Vancouver as part of its North American tour. This groundbreaking production, which has captivated audiences across Asia and the USA, is India's first Broadway-style musical and the most expensive theatre production in Indian history.

"Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical" is a grand spectacle of music, dance, and drama, where romance and royalty meet. The musical, directed by the acclaimed Feroz Abbas Khan and produced by Shapoorji Pallonji, is based on the iconic 1960 film "Mughal-e-Azam," shared Kamal Sharma of KVP Entertainers. “The film took 16 years to bring to life, breaking all records upon its release. Now, seven years after the musical's debut in Mumbai, it is set to captivate North American audiences with its grandeur and artistry,” he added.

The production features hundreds of artists, technicians, and dancers, bringing to life the soul of Indian classical music and Kathak dance. The songs, performed live, are from the original film, adding authenticity and richness to the performance. The addition of English subtitles ensures that a wider audience can enjoy the performance, transcending language barriers.

"Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical" has been recognized with seven BroadwayWorld India Awards, including Best Play, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Direction of a Play for Feroz Abbas Khan. Other awards include Best Original Choreography for Mayuri Upadhyay, Best Original Costume Design for Manish Malhotra, Best Original Lighting Design for David Lander, and Best Original Set Design for Neil Patel.

The musical will be showcased at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Theatre on August 4th, 5th & 6th, 2023.

Tickets are now available at https://www.vtixonline.com/Mughal-E-Azam/ with special group discounts for groups of 10 and more.
