Diljit Dosanjh surprises fans with his no-turban look in 'Chamkila' teaser

Mumbai, May 30 (IANS) For the first time Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh will be seen without his turban in the upcoming film 'Chamkila', directed by Imtiaz Ali, as the makers dropped the teaser on Tuesday morning.
Streaming giant Netflix shared the teaser on Instagram on Tuesday morning. However, in the teaser, it seems Diljit is wearing a wig. He plays Punjab's highest record-selling artiste Amar Singh Chamkila.
The video was captioned: "Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimaag pe chaaya hai woh ab aapke saamne aaya hai. Watch the untold story of Punjab's highest record-selling artist, Amar Singh #Chamkila, coming soon only on Netflix!"
'Chamkila' is based in Punjab, where Diljit Amar Singh Chamkila and Parineeti Chopra play his partner Amarjot Kaur, who were shot dead, along with two members of their band in 1988 in an assassination which remains unsolved.
Speaking about the project, Gurdas Maan said: "Close to 40 years ago, we created the original 'Challa'. I thought it is time to revisit the classic again. What better way to do it than with Diljit. The song 'Challa' means the world to me. It represents celebration, union and separation in the most earthy and Punjabi way".
'Naatu Naatu' made history after contending against songs such as 'Applause' from 'Tell It Like a Woman', 'Hold My Hand' from 'Top Gun: Maverick', 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and 'This Is a Life' from 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'.
Anne-Marie, who has been nominated for ten Brit Awards and has also received a nomination for a Billboard Music Award, wants to visit the country again and would like to go to Goa.

The singer will be treating fans with his most popular numbers including 'Pehli Dafa', 'Jeena Jeena', Rafta Rafta', 'Be Itehaan', 'Dil Diyan Gallan' and many more. This will be the first time, he will be performing with the pioneering all-women orchestra featuring musicians from over 24 nationalities around the world.
With vocals by Guru and Kapil, the song is also composed and written by Guru, while the music production is done by Sanjoy. Shot in the scenic beauty of Manali, the song is directed by Director Gifty and features Guru, Kapil and Yogita.
