Diljit Dosanjh starrer 'Jodi Teri Meri' releasing day before in Canada on May 4th

Chandigarh, May 3 (IANS) A court in Punjab's Ludhiana has stayed the release of Punjabi film 'Jodi Teri Meri', a biopic starring Diljit Dosanjh on the late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his second wife Amarjot Kaur.
The film is slated for release worldwide on May 5th but it is releasing a day before on May 4th in Canada.
Civil Judge (Junior Division) Karandeep Kaur has ordered to issue summons to Dosanjh, actress Nimrat Khaira, Gurmail Kaur, the wife of Chamkila, Karaj Gill of Rhythm Boyz Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Daljit Thind of Daljit Motions Films returnable by May 8, the next date of hearing.
The order on Tuesday came weeks after another court in Ludhiana had stayed the "broadcast, release and streaming" of another biopic on the couple, titled 'Chamkila'.
Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur were gunned down on March 8, 1988, during militancy in Punjab.
"From the documents, a prima facie case is made out in favour of plaintiff (Ishdeep Randhawa). Balance of convenience is also in his favour and if defendants are not restrained from releasing the film 'Jodi Teri Meri", then an irreparable loss will be caused to the plaintiff, which cannot be compensated with any cost," says the order.
"Accordingly, defendants are hereby restrained from releasing the film on May 5 except in due course of law till next date of hearing (May 8)," added the order.
Falu, who has represented India at the White House, will be launching her India Tour in December which will see the celebrated musician play in the artistic hubs of Mumbai, Pune and Goa. She will be supported by distinguished poet Nirmika Singh in Mumbai and Pune.
Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib, had gone to Canada on a student visa in 2017. He was also a key conspirator in the Dera Sacha Sauda follower murder last month.
He took to his Instagram stories to post an apology to his fans and share the news of the postponing of his tour dates. Dhillon wrote: "To all my fans in California. It breaks my heart to inform you that my shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles are being postponed due to an unfortunate injury that I suffered while on tour. I am doing well".

'Honeymoon' is a romantic comedy drama which is directed by Amarpreet GS Chhabra and written by Naresh Kathooria. Gippy praises the music composers B Praak and Jaani. He says: "Jaani and B Praak have delivered another fun Punjabi song that people are going to love. The experience shooting it was amazing and we hope people enjoy it."
The young talents in the age group of 3 to 13 years are judged by Shankar Mahadevan, Anu Malik, and Neeti Mohan. 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs' airs on Zee TV.
