The 12th Annual DARPAN Extraordinary Achievement Awards was a night of glitz and glam at Aria Banquet & Convention Centre.
The function was a huge success with high profile politicians, members from the business community, dignitaries, and distinguished South Asian achievers gracing the occasion with their presence.
The event showcased the best within the community and came to celebrate the accomplishments of 10 remarkable individuals who have reached great heights in their respective fields.
DARPAN is excited to announce its 12th Annual DARPAN Extraordinary Achievement Awards which is set to take place on October 7, 2022, in Surrey. We come together to celebrate the achievements of extraordinary South Asians. With Royal Bank of Canada as the presenting sponsor and the support of other valuable and esteemed sponsors, institutions, organisations and individuals, we bring this event to reality, every year.
Nav Bhatia is best known as the Official Toronto Raptor's Superfan. Arriving in Canada in 1984 with very little to his name Bhatia worked his way to becoming the number one car salesman at Hyundai. Through his love of basketball Bhatia looks to change the perception of Sikhs and South Asians to the mainstream audience hoping for a more united community.

The spectacular Awards gala will honour ten remarkable individuals within the South Asian community who embody the spirit of community and believe in giving back through their own avenues in an effort to build society.
Dr. Sakena Yacoobi founded AIL in 1995 to provide teacher training to Afghan women, to support education for boys and girls, and to provide health education to women and children. Under Dr. Yacoobi’s leadership, AIL has established itself as a groundbreaking, visionary organization which works at the grassroots level.
