Bio:
Kiran is a fourth year student at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Science. She is pursuing a degree in behavioural neuroscience and physiology. A graduate of École Panorama Ridge Secondary, upon graduation from high school, Mann received the BC Hydro Power Pioneer’s Scholarship for Community Service, Coast Capital Savings Citizenship Award, Miller Thomson Scholarship, J.S. McDonald Scholarship, SASSY Youth Leadership Award, University of British Columbia’s Special University Scholarship, and others.
 
 
She is the recipient of the BC Peace and Global Educators’ Gandhi Youth Peace Award, Shakti Award for Academic Excellence, Surrey’s Top 25 Under 25 Award, University of Toronto National Book Award, University of British Columbia’s Chancellor's Scholar Designation, Surrey Leader’s Community Leader Award for Youth Volunteer (Top Honour), and Governor General’s Award for Academic Excellence.  
 
 
Mann is the co-founder and director of special events of Youth Transforming Society (YTS), a registered non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness for global issues and encourage volunteerism amongst young people. Under Kiran’s leadership, YTS has raised over $15,000 for organizations such as Red Cross, Oxfam, Salvation Army, BC Children’s Hospital, and Free the Children.
 
 
She has also volunteered with Vancouver Coastal Health at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) as a TLC Special Request Volunteer; served on various youth committees with the City of Surrey; volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society as the Tanning Is Out Ambassador; was the Youth Team Leader of the Health Promoting Secondary Schools (HPSS) program at Panorama Ridge. In the future, Kiran aspires to attend medical school to become a cardiologist.
