Performance Formulas for the Weekend Warrior

Darpan News Desk, 17 Aug, 2016 10:48 AM
Summer weather has finally arrived, and with it the Weekend Warriors are getting their expensive toys out of the garage and hitting the streets with motors revving.

Whether your toy of choice is a beefy muscle car, a shiny classic, a rumbling motorcycle, a sleek boat or a fun off-road vehicle, you want to make sure it is reaching its optimum performance. It will make heads turn because you baby it, but it is just as important to ensure the insides are kept as clean as the outside.

“There are beautiful drives and trips all across Canada, and you want to make sure you get the most out of it; that means keeping your vehicles in top operating order,” says Megan Currie from STP. “We fully understand when people go week in the knees when the engine starts up. But getting that perfect sound and peak performance doesn’t happen by accident.”

As fun as it is, driving can be hard on a vehicle’s engine — even more so for those Weekend Warriors who like to test the limits and push boundaries. STP offers the following tips to get your engine purring and pushing out its max power.

Get the most of your fuel. You put premium gasoline in your prized vehicle because it has higher octane. A special octane booster fights knock and ping while helping to restore power.

Clear the water out. Water may be the essence of life, but it is near lethal to your vehicle’s performance. A concentrated fuel treatment used when you fill up will not only remove the water from your system, but will also fight against rust and corrosion while keeping your fuel injectors clean. Lest you be fooled into thinking this is only a winter problem, summer’s hot temperatures produce condensation. Be prepared.

Keep it clean. Keeping your fuel system clean will help maintain its optimum operating condition. A complete fuel system cleaner, best used at every oil change, helps clean fuel injectors, carburetors, intake valves and ports, combustion chambers, cylinder heads and piston tops.

Small engines need love too. Boost the performance of your motorcycle, boat, ATV — even your lawnmower — with a small engine treatment that will remove water, help restore performance and help boost the octane in your small engine with regular use. Often found in a travel size single dose, it is the perfect formula for the Weekend Warrior.
